Replace your stock plastic valve cover with this full aluminum valve cover for your GM LUV/LUJ 1.4T engine. Valve cover includes a new gasket, new plastic oil cap, new bolts, and a full new PCV assembly.
Rather than simply reselling a generic aluminum valve cover, we take additional steps to ensure proper fit, sealing, and long-term reliability. Every cover is inspected for flatness to help ensure a consistent seal against the cylinder head, and each kit includes our proprietary O-ringed shoulder bolts designed to properly clamp the cover while allowing the factory torque specifications to be used as intended.
We also verify gasket fitment and sealing surface quality before the cover reaches you. These additional quality-control measures help eliminate many of the common issues found with generic aftermarket valve covers.
These raw aluminum valve covers have not been painted or primed, meaning the finish will not be perfect out of the box. Finish is B grade. We do not recommend powder coating this valve cover. Internal PCV plate bolts Loctite-ed.
The valve cover PCV is a common wear/failure item in the 1.4 PCV system. We highly recommend our PCV upgrade kit for a worry free serviceable system, found here.
This aluminum valve cover uses a proprietary gasket, the OEM gasket or Felpro OEM replacements will not fit. We have replacement gaskets found here.
Torque valve cover bolts to 71 in/lbs.
Product revision February '25: We now include o-ring shoulder bolts with the valve cover to make torqueing the valve cover to spec more consistent.
Fits: 2012-2020 Chevrolet Sonic 1.4T, 2011-2016.5 Chevrolet Cruze 1.4T, 2014-2021 Chevrolet Trax 1.4T, and 2013-2021 Buick Encore 1.4T.
PCV note: The black PCV fitting on the top of the valve cover is not meant to be serviced at this time. Removing the cap will break it and void your warranty.
Oil cap note: This valve cover has an extra "turn" in the oil cap compared to a stock valve cover. Make sure to continue to tighten your oil cap until it stops.
